Director of Operations

Meet Dr. Connie Zollner

Connie is a trauma-informed therapist, neurodivergent adult specialist, and co-founder of the Bellevue Trauma Recovery Center (BTRC) in Bellevue, Washington. She earned her doctorate in Counseling Psychology from Northwest University and is licensed in Colorado (LPC), Oregon (LPC), and Washington (LMHC). Her clinical experience spans pediatric behavioral healthcare, intensive inpatient treatment, university counseling centers, and private practice.

Connie specializes in therapy for neurodivergent adults, with a particular focus on individuals who have historically been under-identified or overlooked, including women, late-identified adults, and BIPOC communities. She provides expert support in betrayal trauma therapy, sex addiction therapy (CSAT), compulsive or technology-based behaviors, and relational trauma. Her work integrates trauma-informed, neuro-affirming care to help clients navigate emotional, relational, and behavioral challenges.

She offers discernment counseling and couples therapy for partners who are uncertain about the future of their relationship, helping them gain clarity, understand relational patterns, and decide whether to pursue repair or separation.

In response to the growing role of technology in intimacy, Connie co-created the Artificial Intimacy Recovery Model (AIRM), a trauma-informed clinical framework supporting individuals and couples impacted by emotional, romantic, or compulsive relationships with AI and digital companions. AIRM integrates attachment theory, betrayal trauma research, addiction frameworks, narrative therapy, and somatic practices to address the neurobiological and relational impacts of artificial intimacy, helping set emerging standards for AI relationship therapy.

As a trauma-informed therapist and certified Emotional Transformation Therapy (ETT) clinician, Connie supports trauma processing, nervous system regulation, and lasting behavioral change. She is also an APSATS Certified Clinical Partner Specialist (CCPS), allowing her to hold balanced space for partners navigating betrayal trauma, sex addiction, and compulsive technology-based behaviors.

Connie has extensive experience in autism and ADHD evaluation, incorporating neuro-inclusive assessments into treatment planning to provide affirming, evidence-based care tailored to each client’s needs. In her role as Director of Assessment Services at BTRC, she oversees a small team of clinicians conducting comprehensive psychological evaluations, ensures clinical best practices, and translates assessment findings into individualized treatment plans that promote meaningful outcomes.

As Director of Operations at BTRC, Connie oversees clinical programs, clinician development, and organizational systems while cultivating a trauma-informed, inclusive environment. She also serves as a primary therapist for BTRC’s Resilience Through Betrayal (RTB) intensive programs in Bellevue, WA.

Her work is guided by the belief that healing requires both safety and clarity, and that with thoughtful support, clients can achieve meaningful recovery, relational resilience, and deeper self-understanding.
