Meet Mary-Frances Moore
Mary-Frances Moore is an individual and couples therapist dedicated to helping clients navigate life’s challenges and discover their path to recovery. With an M.Ed. in Counseling from the University of Houston and a license to practice in Washington State, she brings a wealth of expertise and a compassionate approach to her practice at the Bellevue Trauma Recovery Center (BTRC).
Mary-Frances understands that each journey is unique, and so is her approach. She specializes in trauma-informed, psychodynamic, narrative, and existential therapies, often incorporating imagery of inner healing to connect with the subconscious. Her practice includes exposure therapy, specifically Prolonged Exposure (PE) for PTSD, ensuring a personalized and effective therapeutic experience.
Mary-Frances has a deep focus on addressing intergenerational trauma, survivors of abuse, betrayal trauma, infidelity recovery, substance use and recovery, out-of-control sexual behaviors (OCSB), and supporting neurodivergent individuals, including those with autism and ADHD. As a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP-II) and a graduate of MDMA therapy training, she is equipped to support complex trauma and facilitate healing through various innovative and evidence-based approaches.
Her experience includes developing and implementing a Sexual Health in Recovery program, providing Integrative Harm Reduction Psychotherapy (IHRP), and serving as a psychedelic support facilitator at several festivals. Additionally, she has extensive experience with co-occurring substance use disorders and mental health issues, ensuring comprehensive support for her clients’ unique needs.
Mary-Frances centers her work around the concept of inner healing intelligence, a principle that states, much like a cut on the skin will intuitively heal itself, the brain is equipped with the tools and resilience needed to heal from traumatic events. She believes clients can access their inner healing intelligence and achieve self-determined healing with support and a safe container.
In her sessions, Mary-Frances strives to create a client-focused, safe environment where clients feel comfortable and understood. Whether dealing with the challenges of betrayal, overcoming substance use, or navigating neurodivergence, she is there to support her clients every step of the way.
Her priority is clients’ well-being. Together, she believes it is possible to navigate the complexities of life, heal from past traumas, and build a brighter future.
